Sirius XM signs Sander van Doorn to new show on Area

Sander van Doorn, the number 10 ranked DJ in the world, announced today that he has been tapped by global satellite radio giant Sirius XM (Nasdaq: SIRI ) as the newest on air talent for preeminent electronic music channel Area.

The weekly radio show, called Identity, is an extension of Sanders highly successful iTunes broadcast of the same name. Identity will have its inaugural launch on Thursday, July 22, 2010 and will feature an hour long mix from the superstar, along with commentary, tour news, exclusive contests and the most upfront electronic music on the planet. Interview with Binary Finary

Binary Finary are back since their break in 2000. After 10 years they have resurfaced with a new team performing live as well as behind the decks and also have some new upcoming releases. With their return an interview was certainly in order so that we could get the scoop on what has been going on in their lives through the years and what we can expect from them in the here and now. Interview with Christopher Lawrence

Christopher Lawrence just released his new compilation on Moist music entitled Rush Hour. The official release date was just yesterday, June 22nd, 2010 so we reached out to Christopher for comment to find out more about this new release.

You recently performed with Judge Jules at Pacha on April 23rd, 2010. Would you like to share some of the highlights with us?

Pacha with Jules was a fantastic night. It was amazing to see such packed and rocking dance floor for underground trance in NYC. I am excited by the support that Pacha is giving to a trance night. It proves that if you play it the people will fans will come.

Playing with Jules is always a great time. I had just played several dates with Judge Jules at the WMC in Miami including the AM Only party and Jules own Judgement Wednesdays. I like the energy that Jules brings to the party. He is a quality DJ and has great interaction with the audience.

Interview with Tom Budden

The rise of Tom Budden epitomises what can be achieved when a dance music obsessive channels all that dancefloor enthusiasm wisely. By patiently building a reputation and not being afraid of the graft as well as the good times, he’s carved out an enviable position for himself as an in-demand DJ, producer, promoter and label owner at the helm of Alive Recordings.

Taking ALiVE Recordings over the landmark 20th Release is Tom Budden’s hypnotic; piano-infested “The Deal” dropping with plenty of feel good vibes just in time for those summer terrace moments. The first remix comes from Toronto's Daniel Dubb who has been riding high in the deep house charts of late with his releases on 8Bit, Plastic City and Supernature. His bootleg alongside fellow Canadian 'Sean Miller' of Nina Simone's 'Sinnerman' has been huge for Steve Lawler recently and caused quite a stir in Miami this year. His remix of the Deal strips things back to a deep house groove with loads of funk.

ONNO from Amsterdam delivers a seriously solid remix. Stripping things back to a solid techy workout underpinned by a big rolling bassline. Chopping the vocals down even more and using them to full effect before bringing the main piano hook to seal the deal!

Over the last 20 releases ALiVE Recordings has methodically earned a position as one of the most exciting labels in dance music, and its continued ascent looks as sure-fire as Tom Budden’s enviable track record.

Breaking with our tradition of a classic DJ mix for the ­1st time, this CD sounds more like a live jam to which the three Frenchmen invited numerous renowned guests. dOP had this to say about the mix:

“This mix should show how we make music, both alone and with friends or people that inspire us. Watergate gave us the opportunity to create our ­1st mix CD, so we wanted to make it something special.
